Dear People Who Keep Company With God,

We have been “delivered from the power of darkness and transferred into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Col. 1:13). There is absolutely no shame, defeat, loss or any such thing in His kingdom. Yet we must not be naïve concerning the adversary; expect to face opposition and resistance. Whatever warfare we encounter we must be determined to abide in Christ. We are contending from a place of victory (1 John 4:4).

battlefield of mind photoSatan and the hordes of hell were utterly and totally defeated and disarmed of any weapons at the cross (Col. 2:15). In spite of this, the world we live in is contaminated and is slowly dying because of the on-going influence of the devil. The enemy’s rule and authority has yet to be obliterated from the earth (1 Cor. 15:24). Paul refers to Satan as the “prince of the power of the air” (Eph. 2:2). He is still a ruler and has a domain in which he rules (Col. 1:13).

Christ in His wisdom chose to leave Satan and his army of demons here on earth for the church to finally crush (Rom. 16:20 & Eph. 3:10). The original commission to exercise dominion and expand the garden was never rescinded by God. We have been given authority by Christ to bring heaven’s domain into all of the earth. As we fulfill the original commission we will eventually place the enemy under His feet (1 Cor. 15:25).

In the meantime, “Satan is prowling around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour” (1 Peter 5:8) and, unfortunately, many times the enemy is devouring believers. How does he do this? When Satan wanted to lead the first man and woman into sin, he started by attacking their mind (2 Cor. 11:3). Our mind is the target of Satan because our mind affects the whole person (Rom. 12:1-2).

Satan is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44). Lies are now his new and only weapon. If he can get you to believe his lies then he can build strongholds of thoughts and understanding in your mind that have the potential to destroy your life (2 Cor. 10:1-4). These strongholds can keep us from truly knowing the Lord, His heart and intentions toward us. “To be carnally minded is death” (Rom 8:6).

A few years ago I saw into the spiritual realm. I saw these dark beings I knew were demons. When they realized I could see them they raced toward me and got right in my face. They were trying to implant thoughts into my mind. It was very intimidating, but I also saw a very large warlike angel present with me. He was my personal bodyguard. That gave me assurance. I knew if I accepted one thought from the demons a family of thoughts from hell would set up housekeeping in my mind.  When we believe just one of Satan’s lies he can get the upper hand in our lives and then it is a battle to keep our heads above water.

Recently I saw a vision of a flock of birds continually flying overhead. Those birds are demons (Matt. 13:4,19). They are looking for a place to nest (Matt. 13:31-32). We may not be able to stop them from flying over and even dropping waste on us, but we can stop them from nesting in our minds and hearts. We have been given the spiritual armor of love and faith that protects our heart and hope that protects our mind (1 Thess. 5:8).

Many Blessings, BW
