Elijah Under The Broom Tree

It looked as if the moment Elijah has been prepared for the last 3 ½ years had arrived. The people have confessed that “The Lord is God.” The prophets of Baal are dead. God’s judgment is over, and showers of mercy are falling all around him. A new day had begun for the people of God or so it seemed. Jezebel had not spoken up yet and when she did, it set off a chain of events that exposed Elijah’s human side. He was a man much like us, after all.
