Dear People Who Keep Company With God,

Your life matters, we all want to believe that, but in the world there is an attack on human life. Abortion is one of those attacks against all of us. It not only kills unborn babies, but it also subtly communicates a very insidious message to the rest of us — we are not really valuable, we do not matter. We live up to what we believe. If we believe our lives do not matter, we treat others as if their lives do not matter. It is a wicked cycle.

your life matters photoBut we really do matter. The Bible tells us that God personally touched and created each one of us in our mother’s womb (Job. 10:8). He had hands-on involvement in our creation and He has a purpose for each of us (Eph. 2:10).  He told Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations” (Jer. 1:5).

The Lord also made us for His pleasure. Revelation 4:11 says, “For you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.  God created the world for His own enjoyment. And God especially made us in order to enjoy each one of us on a personal level. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding your conception, birth and life, none of us are an accident. We have great value because in all creation, only we were designed in God’s image.

In order to live the life that really matters we have to connect with our heavenly Father and become who He created us to be. Our heart is our true self. It is that person that God personally created (Prov. 27:19).

What releases life in you when you do it? What are the secret desires you hold dearly in your heart? What are your greatest dreams? In answering these questions you can become more acquainted with your true self and begin the journey of living from your heart. It is a journey. It is not something we accomplish in a day, but rather a lifetime.

There is danger in connecting with the desires of your heart. We have to keep in mind that we live in a culture that is very self-centered and wants what it wants right now. The prevailing culture of the world is, what about me? It’s all about me. What do I get? It is about what I want. How can I get ahead? Yes, we are very valuable and our lives matter, but we are not meant to be the center. We have to guard our hearts against an entitlement mentality because it divides family, destroys community and breeds irresponsibility.

We are warned in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 that in these last days times will be challenging and difficult, and one of the reasons is because people love themselves in an unrighteous way. You can’t love yourself properly apart from knowing the love of the heavenly Father.

It tells us most people are all wrapped up in themselves and are traitors, or in other words, they don’t enter into or stay in committed relationships easily. Marriage vows are easily broken. People forsake their natural and spiritual family over self-centered differences and on and on.

These are perilous times and when we are wrapped up and highly influenced by a culture or mentality that it’s about my personal fulfillment and me, we will miss the heart of the Father’s work in the earth. We will miss our destiny.

When we connect with our heavenly Father, and begin to discover our true identity and His purposes for our life it will shift us into our destiny. We will be fulfilled in a much greater way than simply living for our self.

Many Blessings, BW
