Get Ready! – March 9-10, 2012 E-merge sleepover movie night
“Hey North Carolina, We done ate our breakfast. You’re about to see something you ain’t never seen before, so get ready. Get ready!” Inspired by the movie Secretariat, particularly the scene when Eddie the horse hand, yells to all Kentucky that Big Red was about to exceed all expectations, E-merge ventured into a small clearing in the woods and made our own declaration. It was a powerful, priceless moment and the perfect way to let the world know that God would do something huge!
Words cannot even begin to describe how thankful I am for E-merge. Whether we are yelling modified movie quotes to the world, pouring out our hearts, sharing our struggles, or simply laughing and joking around; I always leave feeling encouraged and in awe of God’s faithfulness.
It is so cool to see God do similar things in each of our lives. Often times our testimonies and stories all correlate with the same underlying theme, and it’s amazing to see how God unifies us. He has brought so much healing to my heart through the girls’ testimonies and words of encouragement. I love the strong accountability and support system that we have with each other. I have developed such deep relationships and He’s given me such wonderful friends through E-merge. Contributed by Becca Ulrich
