God’s Covenant Love & Abortion

The story of God testing Abraham’s faith in Genesis 22 is full of prophetic significance. It is an Old Testament type and shadow of God giving up His son, Jesus Christ. Found here are the first time in the Bible that love and worship are mentioned. Hidden in this particular story is that God forbids the ritual and practice of child sacrifice. The rest of Scripture confirms that the sacrificial murder of children is condemned by God. The New Testament affirms that God doesn’t desire our children’s blood. Instead, “He spared not his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all.” (Romans 8.32).
