It’s a Promise

It’s a Promise

Heb. 11:1 (amp) – “Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].”

Faith is the access that we have to salvation, to the Father’s heart, the love of God and is the access we have into the grace of God. It’s by this faith that He’s deposited in us. The faith of the Son of God that is in us that operates, that gives us the idea and thought that was never originally there. That we can be saved, that we are worthy to be saved. That we can receive the Fathers love. The access point is faith.

Faith is not only the access but it also guarantees that we can never earn it. It settles it. There’s nothing to boast about or brag about. It’s neither our works nor our good deeds. It’s purely understood by faith that we have received something that is way beyond us. Way beyond our reach. A chasm side wide that there is no bridge that could ever join it together.

Rom. 4:1-8 – “…God counted Abraham righteous because of his faith. … When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. 5 But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.” …“Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sins are put out of sight. Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of sin.”  We can’t earn it! Faith affirms and assures us that there is no way we will ever be able to earn the graces, the forgiveness’s and the love of God.  We have to fully trust that when God says you are forgiven that it is true that you are forgiven!

Faith is something the Lord has already put in us and is operating in us. We forget those things we are already walking in and try to pave a different path to get to that which we already have access to.  How is it possible that the work that Christ begun in us was by faith and through faith in Him, and somehow in the middle of it we want to form a different path from the one we were originally given that did not require anything from us to earn other than to believe. We’ve been given this faith of God and somehow we want to add to it or feel like we need to earn it somehow. We can rest knowing that God has fully accepted us. Not based on anything we have done, but fully based in the faith that we have in Him.

Everything that we have can only be accessed by faith. We can strive so much in so many different ways to receive the promises of God, to receive that which has already fully been given and we struggle to get but we already have it.  Faith alone is the access point to fully receive all of God’s promises.
