Mark, The Gospel of Power and Mercy

Mark is the first of the written gospels and it is the shortest of all the gospels. It is written in story form to disclose the true identity of Jesus. Mark reveals Jesus as the man of ultimate power filled with the fullness of God. The key verse is Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” There are 19 miracles and only 4 parables and the theme of those parables is serving.
