On Earth as Citizens of Heaven

Paul speaks of our citizenship in the present. We are citizens. He is not talking about going to heaven. He is talking about living on earth as a citizen of heaven (Phil. 1:27). Paul used the Philippian’s love of Roman citizenship as a way of teaching them about their heavenly citizenship. Paul was telling the Philippians, I know you love your Roman citizenship, but while you are here on earth, place more focus, more value on your citizenship in heaven. If you desire for your citizenship here to be blessed, your nation to be blessed, make your citizenship in heaven your treasure.
