The Hope of the Gospel

Our perception of God is everything. If we see God as loving and deeply caring about us, we will desire to draw close to Him. If we see God as strict, aloof, harsh, and indifferent toward us, we will pull away from Him. Our view of God determines how we interpret the Bible, our past, present, and future. At the onset of Jesus ministry, He tackles our misperception of God head-on (Matthew 4:23-24) by demonstrating God’s love by healing and delivering them all. He preached the gospel, the nearly too good to be true news about the kingdom and He destroyed our expectations of what the Messiah would do.
