The Spirit of the Lord

The Gospel of Luke deals with the practical side of Jesus ministry. More than any of the other gospel writers, Luke connected with the heart of God, as a Father, to provide and care for the poor, sick and needy. He reveals how Jesus did the good works of the Father, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me and He has anointed Me.” And he tells us how we are to do those same works, “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.” (Luke 24:54)
