This Week @ RiverLife — January 29, 2023

• This Morning: Sunday Morning Worship Service— Join us in-person in our sanctuary or virtually (on our RiverLife Media YouTube Channel or on our RiverLife Media Facebook page) for our morning worship service, starting at 10:00 a.m. Byron Wicker will share.
• This Morning: High School Youth Sunday School Class (Grades 9-12)— Class is cancelled today. High school youth will remain in the sanctuary for today’s message.
• Monday: Waffles & Worship (Young Adults)— 6:30 p.m. at Brian and Jo’s place in Cornelius. Waffles and Worship is a young adult group (from high school up to around age 30) that seeks to create a place for community and fellowship while also remembering that we have a greater dream and destiny to pursue as believers. Our meetings consist of a short time for fellowship and waffles starting at 6:30 p.m. We then transition around 7:00 p.m. to a time of worship followed by a Bible study. We then like to wrap up our meetings by praying for and encouraging one another as we face the week ahead of us. • Monday: Sojourn Women’s Ministry Meeting— Women (ages 18+) are invited to join us from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary for our January gathering with Rhonda Bumgarner! Sojourn is where we set aside our busy schedules to worship, to build relationships, to pray, to fellowship, to edify and to encourage, reinforcing our faith and identity. • Tuesday: Women in the Word— 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Sanctuary. Women in the Word is a Bible study and fellowship group led by Rhonda Bumgarner that meets on Tuesdays. We are about sharing our hearts, developing relationships and getting into the Word. Everyone is welcome! • Wednesday: Women’s Intercessory Prayer— 9:30-11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. We gather for a short time of worship followed by praying for Pastor Byron’s requests as well as Holy Spirit-led prayer. Contact Sue [[email protected]] for additional information.

• Wednesday: Journey through the Living Word— 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. You are invited to join us on a year-long journey through the Bible with the Holy Spirit as our guide! The purpose of this class is to introduce the culture and history of the Bible reading, track the location, examine the timeline, and more. The first part of each class will introduce the new readings for the week and then we’ll talk about the exciting things we’ve learned in the past week. We will be reading the Old Testament through to the New Testament in a unique chronological order. Choose your favorite translation or pull up an app and listen to the Bible throughout the week; grab a journal and record your revelations, impressions, etc. All ages welcome! • Wednesday: Tidal Wave (Middle School Youth in Grades 6-8)— 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the church’s back building. Our desire is to create an environment for middle schoolers to grow in their personal relationship with the Lord, in their knowledge and love of the Word, in their spiritual gifts and in worship. We also believe that social interaction is a key part of a group of this age and have plenty of opportunities for fun and activities. • Wednesday: High School Youth— 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the church’s back building. Students in grades 9-12 are invited to join us! Email Cory [[email protected]] for details.
• Thursday: Practical Christianity (Mooresville)— 6:00 p.m. at the Croley’s house. Our gathering includes a covered dish dinner, Bible study, prayer and discussion about relevant topics that are practical to everyday life. Bring your Bible and come join us! • Friday: Draw Near Worship & Encounter Night— 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. You are invited to a night of worship dedicated to the Lord and His presence! Come rest in Him, praise Him, open your heart to Him as well as pursue His heart. Due to a lack of workers, Childcare is no longer available during Draw Near.

• Walking In Freedom with the Holy Spirit— A recovery program for addiction is in the works. If anyone is interested in attending, please contact Dale Smith [704-206-9673].

Being a Biblical citizen requires having KNOWLEDGE of the culture so we can represent the Lord well and be an effective catalyst for restoring Biblical values in our neighborhood, state, and nation. Knowledge is power.

Beginning Tuesday, January 24^th the NC Faith and Freedom Coalition will launch an 8-week training course on the US Constitution and Biblical Citizenship. This course is designed to educate and activate meaningful conversation to combat the ideologies of Cultural Marxism, Critical Race Theory, and the 1619 Project which are prevalent in our schools, universities, and culture.

These online classes are FREE. Anyone is welcome to attend, but you must register at ncfaithandfreedom.com/events. This is a great investment for making a difference in a practical way. • Friday, February 17: Date Night Fundraiser for Camp Morley— 6:00-8:00 p.m. in RiverLife’s back building. We have a great opportunity for our church families and this year’s campers! Drop your kids off at the church and our campers will babysit! (Stacy VanWassenhove will be supervising this event.) Mark your calendar and RSVP!
