Elijah and Obadiah

Everything in Elijah’s life has been leading up to the moment of confrontation on Mount Carmel, but Elijah was not the only person was using. Obadiah shows up in the story of Elijah to reveal there is more than one way to infiltrate the world with the Kingdom of God. Elijah works from the outside, standing apart from and speaking into national life, and God has given him a platform to do that. But Obadiah has a different calling, and it must be pursued in a very different way. He has a ministry of influence. His job wasn’t to confront but to infiltrate and release the Holy Spirit’s influence into the palace. Obadiah’s ministry called for a lot of wisdom.
