More than Just Getting By

In 1 Corinthians 10, the Apostle Paul urges us to move beyond choosing between right and wrong. “The point is not just to get by,” he says, “we want to live well [and] to help others live well (1 Cor. 10:24,The Message).” Living well means pursuing God’s best for our life. That’s not always easy to do as we find our own emotions clouding our judgement. Paul warns us not to be childlike in our thinking (1 Cor. 14:20), but reminds us that we have the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16). Taking full advantage of that requires humility.
