Dear RiverLife Family,

I had a telephone conversation with our insurance company’s corporate office earlier in the week. They informed me their engineer concluded one of the trusses failed and it created a domino effect that caused the others to fail. The cause of the failure according to their engineer’s finding was a defective truss or a original installation issue. Unfortunately this is not covered by the insurance. Ouch!

After some more discussion with our local insurance agent we may have ground for a legitimate appeal to this decision. He assured me the insurance company would consider our appeal. So we are working with our engineer on drawing up a letter appealing the decision. This letter will have to come from our engineer. Pray we would accomplish this as soon as possible.

We are also working with our engineer on a simple, safe and sound engineered solution to repairing the trusses. We are close, but not yet there. Pray we would accomplish this as soon as possible also so we can move forward and get back in our building.

Once a repair method is approved by the engineer we can put together an estimated cost to repair and put is all back together. With the uncertainty around our insurance we are also working on alternate plans to cover the cost. Thank you so much for all of you who financially contributed toward our building last week. You can still contribute this Sunday or go to our web site and contribute on-line. Pray we would receive all the finances to cover this.

If you know anyone outside our congregation who would have a heart to help us please prayerfully considering speaking with them. I would be glad to speak with them about it also.

I appreciate all of you. You have been champions in this! Your prayers, encouragement and wisdom are making a huge impact. This is taking longer than I like, but we are doing all we know to do and trusting the Lord in it all. He is working all this for our good. He is great and loving God!

Shalom, Byron
