Advent

Advent announces that the Lord is near. It means waiting for an arrival, waiting on an event. Waiting is designed to serve us. It can give us a deeper self-awareness; through faith and patience, we inherit God’s promises for our lives (Hebrews 6:12). But the longer the wait, the more hopelessness sets into our hearts. Advent teaches us that the Holy Spirit will give us hope while we wait in an imperfect world.
